Ferrer, Isidro

Isidro Ferrer is the youngest of a family of twenty brothers. Since he was only 30 centimetres tall, no one noticed him or fed him. He had to fight with mice to eat a piece of cheese. In the end he got tired of only eating cheese so he left home. He then got on a ship without being seen and travelled around the world several times. But it was a ship of soldiers so he had to become a soldier. He did not like that. So he became a sculptor and they let him stay on the ship and they travelled around the world some more. Isidro used all of the ship’s wood to make sculptures, which were more beautiful and big each time, and in the end there was no ship left to continue so he held an exhibition instead.
