The first version of this book -according to its author, "a tribute to charity and brotherly love"- was published in Mexico in 1957. The present edition, published by Media Vaca in conjunction with the Fundación Max Aub (based in Segorbe), includes the work of thirty-two prestigious illustrators. Never before had these brief stories (some of them only seven words long: "I killed him: he was from Vinaroz") received such an overabundance of space and red and black inks mixed together. It is also a stylistic exercise: the illustrators offer their own versions of the crimes.

*Illustrations by Ajubel, Alfredo, Arnal Ballester, Asun Balzola, Miguel Calatayud, Mariana Chiesa, Chumy Chúmez, El Roto, César Fdez. Arias, Gallardo, Paco Giménez, Artur Heras, A. "I killed him because I had a headache. And he talked and talked, without a break, about things I didn't care about at all. The truth is, even if I'd
cared. I openly looked at my watch six times: he payed no attention. I think that is an extenuating circumstance that should be taken into account"
